Myriapods

Myriapods are a group of arthropods that include centipedes, millipedes, pauropods, and symphylans. They are known for their elongated bodies and multiple legs, though the number of legs varies between species. Millipedes are slow-moving detritivores that feed on decaying plant material, while centipedes are fast predators equipped with venomous claws to catch prey. Myriapods play essential roles in ecosystems by aiding in decomposition and controlling insect populations. Found in various habitats worldwide, they thrive in moist environments like forests, leaf litter, and soil. Despite their many legs, they are not insects but belong to their own unique arthropod class.
