Insects and arthropods are often misunderstood, yet they are among the most fascinating and delicate creatures on our planet. Despite their tiny size, they play enormous roles in ecosystems worldwide. Many species are surprisingly fragile — sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity, light, and handling. Respect, patience, and knowledge are essential when caring for them.
Every species featured in on our site represents a member of our journey — animals that are currently part of our family or have been with us at different stages of our story. Each one has helped us learn, grow, and share a deeper appreciation for the incredible diversity of the invertebrate world.
Caring for these animals is a responsibility we take very seriously. We provide species-specific habitats, controlled environmental conditions, appropriate nutrition, and minimal stress handling. Our practices have been assessed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service Ireland (NPWS) to ensure we meet the required standards and operate responsibly and ethically. Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do. We share our house and our life with each one of them.
